2024 - 2025: Adventure Awaits!
7 - 12 years old
If you're looking to build community while enhancing your homeschool curriculum with hands-on projects, this is the class for you!
Geography based: Exploration of different areas of the world and science concepts through STEM, PBL (project-based learning), art and hands-on activities.
Exploration of an area's culture such as music, food, traditions, dance, etc. enhances learning by providing context for topics while increasing cultural literacy. For example: Anatomy? Let's visit Renaissance Italy to check out Leonardo da Vinci's sketchbooks! While we're at it, let's also explore Italy's history, food, celebrations, art, etc. While traveling through various places, academic concepts aligned with the TEKS will be incorporated in a STEAM or PBL manner.
STEAM & PBL
Using a blend of STEAM and PBL (project-based learning) that fosters curiosity, students gain content area growth while increasing critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills.
Some benefits of project-based instruction:
increases motivation and student engagement
promotes a deeper understanding of content
allows students to take ownership of their learning
creates a love of learning
Students are encouraged to explore, problem solve and enjoy the process!
